And the World Keeps Spinning On

Howdy folks!

It's been a very busy and interesting week for this family. We had our county fair from Tuesday to Saturday. Josh and Caleb were showing breeding heifers Friday morning. So, every day of that week consisted of getting up and heading right over to the fair grounds to feed the heifers, clean up after 'em, and make sure everything was ok. Then, you basically just hung out all day until you could feed them again in the evening.  Perhaps we're an odd family, but we get rather exhausted when we are away from home, day after day.
Friday the boys showed their heifers and did a really good job. Unfortunately, Caleb's heifer (who had been behaving very well before this) decided that she wanted to lead, not be led. And, when you weigh 900lbs, you kind of get your way with a kid that's not even half your size. However, Caleb handled it very well and his heifer didn't end up hurting anyone with her little attitude, so it was good. Joshua got Reserve Grand Championship overall, and Caleb got Grand Champion in showmanship in his division (he was a little disappointed that he won because he was the only person in the ring... He told me afterwards, "Yeah, it was an easy win. Which is kind of a bummer."). However, we were very proud of them and whooped and cheered for them whenever we could.
Saturday morning we were up super early to do corn again. Mom, Becca, Josh, and I did that while Caleb and Dad headed back to the fairgrounds to help serve the BBQ lunch. .Once we were done with the corn, we headed back to the fair, loaded everything up, and headed home. Needless to say, that evening I think we pretty much looked like zombies or something. We were pretty bushed.
Today we will be enjoying the fellowship of some good friends whilst we make cards (gotta be productive, right? ;-) and the boys get their last swimming session in before it gets too cold. They might not even get to do it today since it's been a bit rainy, but we'll see how long it lasts. :-) We'd like it to last all day!
Also this week we are getting together with another friend to plan and discuss. Plan and discuss what? Well, I can't tell you that... yet. Once everything is finalized, then perhaps I'll be able to tell you all about it and keep you updated from then on out. However, we're all rather excited over here!!!
Also, I haven't forgotten that I still haven't finished posting pictures from our wonderful weekend celebrating my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. I'm planning on working on that this week, if at all possible. There are several fun pictures that I definitely want to show y'all!!

Well, I had better run! I hope that all my readers are doing well. Drop me a line and let me know how your week went.

Oh, and keep you eyes open for a fun event that will be happening soon!

In  Christ's Service,
Sarah
