Never done this before...

...but that doesn't mean I have to keep it that way.  What have I never done before?? I have never shared parts of my books on here.   As many of you know, I am an aspiring authoress.  God has given me a gift, and I want to use that gift to Glorify Him.
There isn't a whole lot to say, except that I hope you enjoy reading just a little bit of this new book.  I plan to get this one finished by next year and hopefully published.....but we'll see what happens! It's in God's hands, so no need to worry, that is for sure! :-)  Also, I haven't come up with a title yet.. as another many of you know, I have a hard time coming up with titles..... =D  So without further ado....... My book, {No Title}:

The broad sword of his enemy flashed in the sunlight as the blade screamed towards his head.   He had been caught by surprise with this attack and barely had enough time to bring his own sword up to block it.  His blade hardly slowed down the alarming speed of his opponent’s.  The skillfully sharpened metal crashed into his helmet knocking it off and sending him reeling.  Blood trickled down the side of his face mixed with the sweat that made his appearance shiny; the result of a long, hard fight.  As he careened backwards, his opponent grabbed him by his breastplate and pulled him forward.
“Let that teach a lesson to you, dog!”  He snarled before he pushed the fainting man away from him.
As he crashed heavily to the ground, Trent lost all feeling.  The world slowly stripped away.  The sounds of battle around him became faint, barely audible.  The trees above him swayed and became blurred until all was black.

He awoke with the feeling that he was being drug.  Yes, he was most certainly being hauled along through the tall, dry grass, but he couldn’t remember what had happened.  Trent summoned his strength to lift his head off of his chest and look up at his captor, or perhaps rescuer, but to no avail.  Licking his parched lips, he struggled to remember what had happened.
He noticed that whoever was carrying him was breathing hard, is if he was a heavy load for them.  Once again he tried lifting his head.  Fresh blood from his wound came trickling down his face.  Trent became dizzy and rested his chin on his chest as his  eyes slowly closed and all became dark.

I hope you let me know what you thought!!!

Keep the prayers coming!

Howdy!

I just wanted to thank y'all, once again, for the wonderful and mighty prayers that y'all have done on behalf of getting rain.  Just wanted to let everyone know that we have rain clouds hanging over us right now, so keep the prayers coming that it just dumps its load soon. :-)

Thank you!!

A Simple Woman's Daybook- Entry #2

Outside my window... The sky is blue, the sun is shining... but it is rather windy... Perhaps we will get rain? Keep praying!

I am thinking... of some cute ideas for sewing... and that my side hurts really badly.  I think I pulled a muscle...

I am thankful for... my wonderful Momma and Sister. I am able to pour my heart out to them at any time and get wonderful advice, prayers, and lots of love.

From the learning rooms... Math, Human Anatomy (my favorite!), History, English, Language Arts, Spanish, French, and computer skills....sort of. ;-)

From the kitchen... I have no idea... we had scrambled eggs with bacon and celery for breakfast.  Yes, celery in your eggs. It is extremely good!

I am wearing... A very cute 'scrub', and a skirt

I am creating... Some ideas for a cake decorating business my friend and I are thinking of starting up.. also, plans for a book I am writing.. perhaps I will share a bit of it here sometime..

I am going... to go get some more school done after this, then probably sit and read a book with a hot pad on my side

I am reading... The last book in the Mitford Series, Disciple by Juan Carlos Ortiz (I highly recommend this book!), finishing up Pride and Prejudice.

I am hoping... to get some more sewing done, to exercise and lose some weight, get a book FINISHED, and get a movie filmed.

I am hearing... some music playing (a really neat group called Triple L Band.  Visit their website Here and look them up on Youtube!)

Around the house... Mom and Josh are out feeding... Caleb is reading a book, Becca is doing.. I am not sure... lol!

One of my favorite things... is walking in the grass barefooted, planting my flower and herb garden

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tomorrow I have fiddle lessons, Friday we are going to some 'crazy' friends of ours (he-he!), Saturday we are attending a picnic thing for my Dad's work, and Sunday is church.
What is your day look like?? Do you have big plans for the rest of the week?  Is it raining where you live.. no wait, don't tell me.. it would only make me jealous. ;-)

Thank you!!

Prayer Warriors,

Thank you so much for the prayers!  I really appreciate them.  God is definitely in control of the weather, and here is proof!

When Mom and I watched the news to find out where that fire was (there were several closer to us, by the way, that were not on the news... go figure), they gave the weekly forecast.  We weren't supposed to have any rain clouds near us at all.  Just wind and dusty skies.

Well, y'all started prayin' and God started workin'!  We got a bit of rain today!!  Granted, not very much, but we are still thankful that it even rained.  I felt totally.... in awe at God's wonderful, amazing power and goodness!   I know your prayers helped, so thank you so much.

Just please keep on praying, though, because we need an inch or two (or more!).

So, here are a few interesting things about those fires.  Since the beginning of this year, our state has had 455 fires..... Just since the beginning of THIS year!!

Then, the fire I referred to earlier? The one that WAS closer to us? It burned 117 acres..... don't know how that didn't get on the news, but who knows.  Any how, thought that was interesting.  In the words of my youngest brother, "New Mexico will be burnt out!"

Also, continued prayers for those in the Gila Mountains.  A lot of homes have been lost (I think 34 or something?). Just thinking about how much land has burned is unfathomable for me.  I just can't imagine that much land burning.
Any how, thank you once again for those wonderful prayers! Keep 'em coming!

Prayers please!

Hello prayer warriors!

I am asking for some big prayers, please.  Today, the sun started getting dim.... when I looked outside, the sky was also dim.  Unfortunately not from rain clouds!  Instead, smoke.  Fires are never a good thing, as many of you know.  Right now we are extremely dry and are in need of some moisture.

So, my prayer request.  Any time we smell fire, we are instantly wondering if it could be on our property.  Mom and I ran up to my Nana's house to watch the news.  There were two fires.  Both down at the very bottom of NM...  One of them, though, has been burning/already burnt 33,000 acres.  We think the smoke has come all the way from there.  It is pretty hazy out there!

I would like to ask for two prayers.  1. That the fire will get put under control.  I imagine many homes might have been ruined, and many people have evacuated. I can't imagine how terrifying it would be to run from your home, knowing you might possibly lose it.
2. That we will get rain.  We desperately need it.

Thank you so much!!

In Christ' Service,
Sarah

Exhausted, to say the least....

Today was a very exhausting day.  Why? I am not really sure if I could answer that.    Perhaps I should back up.
   The beginning of this week.
Sunday:  Lovely day, except that it was very cold, windy, and promised moisture.  We had church at our home.  Afterwards one of the families ended up staying until supper.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship with them.

Monday:  It was a lazy day.  Did some school and then wished some sporadic would happen to make the afternoon more interesting...  It was warm enough that I went outside and stretched out on our yard of weeds to watch the big, fluffy clouds roll by on the deep blue sky.  Beautiful!  God's creation never ceases to amaze me.   Went back inside and was working on a project on the computer when a call came in.  My brother and sister, who had been out tagging calves/checking cows, called to say that our herd bull had jumped the fence into the neighbors pasture.  Caleb and I headed out to help them put our little Houdini into his rightful land.   We had to cut the fence so we could lower it and he could walk over (don't ask me why, but every time a bull JUMPS the fence, he refuses to JUMP back over...).  Once he was back in our own pasture again, we fixed the fence and headed back.   Dad had arrived home by now, so we kids went out and helped him work on a few more projects for Drama.  Well, guess I got my wish on hoping some sporadic would happen!

Today:  Got up and felt tired from the late night before.  Left the house by 10:45 to get to the church, set up the stage, and get ready for drama practice at 12:30.   Drama went well.  I think we might actually be able to pull this thing off! ;-)  After drama, we got things set up for performances on Friday and Saturday.  So, tonight I am feeling a little exhausted, to say the least.

Care to know what the rest of this week looks like?  If so, read the brief description below.. if not, scroll down and leave a comment.. =D

Tomorrow will actually be a realized day because my writing class that was to go from 10:00 am to 3-4 pm was canceled.  Disappointed, yet glad at the same time!

Thursday is dress rehearsal for Drama.  Then Friday and Saturday are performances!  So, it is going to be a busy week.....

What does ya'll's weeks look like??  Leave a comment and let me know!

Until then, I will sign off and get some sleep.  Hope all of you are well and enjoying some beautiful Spring/summer weather!

In Christ's Service,
Sarah
