Photography Contest Finalists and Winners!

Hello!

I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to get your wonderful photos judged.  It was mostly your fault, though!  All of the photos you all entered were just so beautiful! I had a VERY hard time choosing my winners. I don't know how many times I've come over to the computer and looked, and compared, and looked again, and left with still the same answer as before: I liked ALL of them!!! So, if ever I have the idea to do one of these again, I will encourage my dear sister to host it instead! haha!

She was, as a matter of fact, my judging partner.  Because I am no professional on photos, she helped point out which ones looked clearer, more focused, etc. So, a HUGE thank you to Becca for that help!

Now, I decided that I would post who made it to the Finals.  Below are all the entries that I had the hardest time deciding between.

For the Summer Memories category:

For the Autumn Glory category:

And for the My Favorite category:

Congratulations to Cassie, Marquette, Samantha, Maggie, and Hannah!  Your photos are absolutely beautiful.  I had an EXTREMELY hard time picking out the winners.  However, only one photo per category could win!

So, without further ado, I would like to present the winners of my Autumn Glory/Summer Memories Photography contest.

And the winners are..........................

Maggie from My Small Corner Photography for the Summer Memories Category!

Maggie, the reason I picked your photo was because I felt that it depicted Summer the best.  A favorite summer treat is Ice Cream! Your photo is very clear and crisp. A very nice close-up shot!  Congratulations!  Please leave your email address in the comment box (I won't publish it) and I will contact you about your prize!!

Marquette from Marquette LaRee Photography for the Autumn Glory Category!

I picked your photo, Marquette, because it literally made me sigh and dream of Autumn! Your photo is stunningly crisp and clear and just beautiful.  Congratulations, Kett!  Just leave your email address in the comment box and I will email you about your prize!

And last but not least, the winner for the My Favorite category.......

Samantha from Simple Delights

Your photo of the bridge was really beautiful.  It made me want to go visit it and it probably would have been my favorite thing, too!  Congratulations! I'll email you the details about your prize!

Congratulations to the winners!  And to the rest of you who participated: You took some beautiful photos!  Thank you SO much for entering this contest and helping me spread the word about my sister's blog.  I really appreciate it!

Thank you to all of the people who sponsored my giveaways during the contest.  It was truly appreciated!

A HUGE thank you to my wonderful sister, Rebecca!  Thank you for taking the time to help me judge the photos! You are such a blessing!

And last but not least, thank you to all of those who supported me in this effort! It was so appreciated.

I hope that everyone enjoyed this as much as I did.  Once again, I am truly sorry for taking this long on getting the photos judged!  Thank you for your patience with me. :-)

Sarah

So Sorry for the delay!

To all the wonderful people who entered my photography contest:  I am terribly sorry for the delay of posting the winners!  My sister and I have been working on judging them.  This has been an EXTREMELY difficult task because so many wonderful photos were entered! I'm having a hard time picking the winners. :-)  Any how, I will try to post them before Christmas.  Unfortunately our family's schedule has been a whirlwind of activities.  I haven't had much time for computers and whatnot.  (Thus, why I haven't posted in a while!)  And actually, if I am on the computer, I am working really hard on my book so that I can get it finished before the end of this year.  Yes, big goal, but I am determined. :-)  This, however, means that I need to be writing about 20-35 pages a day.  If you are a writer yourself, you know that this is pretty difficult on some days when you are out of ideas.

Ok, sorry, that was a sidetrack.  In any case, I am working on judging and will get those up as soon as I am able!   Then, I've got some picture posts coming up (yeah!) of our drama performances, and a fun time with a special friend. ;-)  And MAYBE I'll be able to put in a few fun Christmas posts as well... oh, and do the second part of the "Romantic movies" post... hehehe... yikes.  Looks like I've got lots on my plate.  Well, at least I've got a chance to sit down and write this up.  I am currently not in my home, but spending the weekend with some friends.  Don't worry, I'm not being rude because the daughter is out with my sister for the moment, the mother's are visiting, and the guys are working.. so yeah. ;-)  I feel rather distant from my blogging friends, though!  Thank you for your sporadic comments.  They really made my day! It's fun to get comments even on posts that are pretty old... =D

Alright, I guess that is about it for my ramblings.  Oh yeah, has any one gotten any snow??  Supposedly we are going to get about 6 inches. And where are we?  away from home, of course! Argh! I hate missing the first snow.  Oh well!

Any one got their Christmas decorations up yet?  We would have had ours done by now on our 'normal' schedules, but haven't had time yet!  I'm looking forward to getting everything out and making the house look festive.  We live so far away from civilization that we don't put any lights around the outside of the house.  Ok, ok, so we're 7 miles away from the nearest town.  So, Dad doesn't think we should put any lights up.  Quite personally I don't care either way.  I like the outside ones, but don't go outside at night enough to really enjoy them (on our house). At least the inside is pretty!

Ok, so I have one more question for you.  Do you put a Star or an Angel on the top of your tree (if you have a tree)?

Alright. I'm signing off now, for real. ;-)  Thank you for your comments! I love hearing from you.

Have a blessed weekend full of joy, family, and the Love of Christ's in your hearts.
In Christ's service,
Sarah

Autumn Glory Photography Contest Ends Today!

Ok, I meant to get this posted sooner than past midnight.  However, just a reminder to everyone that the photography contest ends today at Midnight- Mountain Standard time.

Thank you to those who have entered so far!  I am very excited about your entries and can't wait to start judging them. :-)  There are also some prizes, so be sure to keep an eye out for those!!

Hope you all are having a wonderful time... sleeping?   I guess that is what most people would be doing at this hour. ;-) haha!  In any case, I'll probably have to give y'all a post on WHY I am up so late.  Trust me, it's good.  If you are a girl, you'll love it.  If you are a guy... well, you might like it since it kind of has to do with hunting....  confusing?  Yeah, you're right. I should go to bed. =D

Me

Autumn Glory Photography Contest

One of my favorite things about the beginning of Autumn is looking back at the fun memories of Summer.... and then looking ahead with excitment and anticipation to the days of Fall.  That is why I decided that now would be a fun time to host a photography contest in honor of those sweet memories and the brigh future.  However, I also have another reason for doing this......

The Summer Pastimes/Autumn Glory Photography contest (and the giveaways) are all in honr of my best friend and Sister, Rebecca.  I am trying ot help spread the word about her new Etsy Shop and Photography blog!  Want to help me do it?  Wonderful!

Now, I kind of decided to go big with this whole thing... so, there will be several giveaways throughout the contest, some Autumn recipes, and fun interviews (maybe even a few tutorials, if I ever get around to them...).  Don't miss out! And help spread the word.  Grab a button (located on my sidebar) and let's get going!

First things first... The Rules of the photography contest.  Please be sure to read and follow each instruction. Also, the giveaways are not limited to those who are entering the photography contest.

Rules of Entry:

There are 3 categories that you may enter:  Summer Memories, Autumn Happiness , My Favorite Thing (you get to enter any photo!).  You are not limited to just one category.  You may enter up to 3 photos per category.

All photos must be appropriate (no immodest, crude, gross objects in the picture)

Your photographs may be edited, but if you edit them to any great extent, please be sure to post the original as well.

All photographs will be judged according to how well they fit into their category.

This photography contest ends October 31st.  All entrants have until then to get their photographs posted and linked up to THIS POST.  Any entries posted after (Central Time) on the 31st will not be allowed.

When you post your photographs on your blog, be sure to list what category(s) you are entering, and put the direct link to that post in a comment below.

And last but not least, I have the right to eliminate any of the photos if I think that they are inappropriate in any way.

Now go and spread the word, tell all of your friends, and get ready for a fun time in the blogosphere! Also, if you want to enter several categories, they may be entered at seperate times. In other words, you don't have to do Autumn and Summer in the same post. :-)

I put this at the end of the post so that it will be fresh in your memory… Be sure to go and check out my Sister’s Blog,  …. And her new Etsy Shop!

By the way, the pictures in for the blog buttons were taken by Miss Rebecca.. :-)
